Your Therapist Think You Might Be Surprised to Know This About Them

"What might your clients be surprised to learn about you?"

"What might your clients be surprised to learn about you?"

When we interview our associate therapists, we like to ask them a variety of different questions. Sure, we ask about their modalities and therapeutic orientation. But we also like to learn more about their human side. One of the questions that we ask is:

“What might your clients be surprised to learn about you?”

Here is how 15 different associate therapists answered that question.

Jordana del Feld answered:

I travelled all over the world dancing and teaching tango. I now stay in San Francisco, but I still teach tango, helping people develop curiosity, compassion, and clear communication in relationships. Because what you explore on the dance floor is what you explore off the dance floor.

Courtenay Houk answered:

The very first time I saw a therapist myself, I felt completely un-met and shamed in the therapy; I did not think I would ever go back. I am so happy I gave myself another chance years later, because it set off a chain of events that led me to where I am now. I have grown from a person who felt like life was happening to her, to someone who feels like an agent in her own story.
