A Little About Me

Maintaining awareness and flexibility in each moment is a foundation to my approach as a therapist, therefore, my ideal client is someone who is willing to engage in a similar fashion. I do not favor a personality type over another. Just an authentic desire to be involved and engaged in the room. This includes thoughts and feelings in which there is some level of conscious awareness and who are also willing to venture into the gray areas of our experience - the unconscious. By exploring the spectrum of these two aspects of experience and sensation in some level depth, a client can begin to see the connectivity, i.e., oneness, of how to perceive our environment and make sense of our unique cognitive processes. In other words, finding clarity in the "parts" of ourselves while and learning to integrate them.

As a therapist, I humbly believe I am resource capable of providing insights, tools and meaning-making for a client. That being said, these resources are purposefully held at my fingertips, only to be conveyed in the spirit of reflection and/or response. In every session, with every client my methodical, steady approach is mindfully-based active listening. On a fundamental level, I profoundly hold that the tools necessary for healing and growth are embodied within every client. My role is to help into each client tap into their dormant intuitive wisdom and thus gain peace and clarity. Although being relational as a therapist, at first blush, may not appear to be unique, I bring myself fully into each session. I believe being too mechanical and clinical would inhibit my work. Showing up in a way that allows a client to feel as natural and comfortable as possible is crucial in getting the most out of a session. Therefore, this is no rote, step-by-step methodology I bring into a session. I truly keep myself as open as possible for the inherently unique perspectives, the myriad of ways we may suffer and, concurrently, the numerous options we have for healing.
