Quetzal Francois
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #127114
Certified Sex Educator
Yoga & Social Justice Teacher Certification

Quetzal comes to her clinical work through living her own story. Her personal and professional experiences deeply inform the path that led her to becoming a therapist. She has 10 years of experience designing curriculum and facilitation of groups for teens and people. She has taught sexual health education and social and emotional learning programs all over the Bay Area. In recent years, Quetzal has been applying her passion for seeing multiple perspectives inside intimate relationships to her practice with couples and individual adults.
Quetzal has a warm, relational, direct and engaged presence. As a mixed-race queer woman she holds an intimate understanding of the need for a therapeutic approach that is intersectional. In her healing practice, she centers the complexity of being alive, celebrates vulnerability, and affirms the need to belong. She believes that inside each of our struggles there is a choice and it's from this place that we can reconnect to and reclaim our inherent wisdom and power. Her intention is to shed light on the path to help guide her clients home to themselves.
Quetzal’s framework is trauma-informed, holistic and integrative. In collaboration with her clients, she offers a variety of approaches such as attachment theory, liberation and feminist psychology, somatic, expressive arts, and mindfulness to help her clients draw on their personal strengths and resilience as they move through their pain towards healing and liberation.
