“I am a human, and nothing human is alien to me.”—Latin Playwright, Terence.
“What is most personal is most universal.”—Carl Rogers, founder of client-centered psychotherapy.
No matter what is happening in your life and what you are going through, you can expect me to hold a dedicated relational container to meet you with compassion, empathy, warmth, and curiosity. I believe these qualities of me are what make a therapeutic relationship successful to accompany your healing and transformative journey. I don’t take your trust for me lightly, and I believe trust and safety are earned in an on-going process.
My therapeutic approach is an eclectic integration of relational, psychodynamic, humanistic, and somatic methods, drawing from an array of theories and modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Polyvagal theory, and depth psychology. I balance well the need for safety and stabilization first before processing any potentially difficult materials, followed by integration of your experiences for greater empowerment in your life.
As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand the importance of space holding for you to process and honor the most intimate and vulnerable places inside, perhaps areas that need both protection and yearn to be seen. I am here for you in that way. At times, I may laugh and shed tears together with you. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we can co-create a healing journey that best meet where you are at.
I welcome people with all walks of life. I have served and supported people with diverse social locations. The unifying theme of my work is supporting greater intimacy and connection with oneself so that we can together create a world that we can call home.
