A Little About Me

I’m passionate about supporting folx who transcend “norms” through their unique experience of unfolding.
My approach is warm, curious, trauma informed, and relationship-centered. So much of our trauma as a species has occurred in relational contexts. Therapy can be an opportunity to re-define and discover what it means to be in healthy relationship with oneself and others. Through building our therapeutic relationship together, I think we can uncover a lot about how you move through the world, where you get stuck, and how you relate to others. I have a non-pathologizing approach which distinctly values difference, creativity, and ever-evolving identities. I have lived experience navigating gender non-conformity and understand the unique nuances encountered by trans, non-binary folx and other members of the LGBTQIA+ community. While my queerness is core to who I am, I work with people of various backgrounds and intersecting identities.

I’m particularly interested in therapeutic work that focuses on awareness—I think the more awareness we have of our internal landscape, the more opportunities for choice and agency there are. Exploring the somatic experience and supporting clients to trust the wisdom of their bodies is central to my approach. I also place enormous value on understanding and naming the sociopolitical structures in which we all exist, play a part in, and are harmed by. Exploring how systems of oppression have impacted you can be a crucial part of the healing and reclaiming process.

It’s important to me that the space I share with my clients feels collaborative and co-creative. There is no agenda to fix or change what is intrinsic to your being. To me, psychotherapy is about opening ourselves up to receiving the whole of another; bearing witness to the entire range of someone’s emotions and traveling with them to their darkest spaces—sitting in the unknown together. The sharing of this beautifully mysterious and wise space is where tolerance for uncertainty can be cultivated. It is my intention and honor to support your developing authenticity, autonomy and boundaries, and to radically witness, contain, reflect, hold and sit with you in your truth.
