We asked our associate therapists about their favorite books. We asked them to provide books that are related to therapy as well as those that aren’t. After all, sometimes the most helpful books in our lives are fiction, memoir, and even children’s books. Together, these sixteen associate therapists named 60 different favorite books, which we’ve rounded up here for you today. Below the complete list you can find the full answer from each therapist, along with links to interviews to learn more about each of them.

Mark Resch answered:
One of my favorite therapy books is “No Bad Parts” by Richard Schwartz because he clearly lays-out an approach that can help us see parts of ourselves in a way that allows us to get insights that are very different from the stories that we often tell about ourselves.
Favorite Non-therapy books? I really liked reading “Circe” by Madeline Miller. This book is a fictionalization of the lives of some of the characters from Greek mythology that really brought them to life for me.
