I'm so glad you're here. I understand how daunting it can be to take these big steps towards healing. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, scared, confused, grieving, curious, or even excited and hopeful (and everything in between), you don't have to have it all figured out before reaching out.
My name is Beverly and I'm a therapist based in San Francisco with a deep passion for helping people heal from emotional wounds, especially the ones we've been carrying for a long time without even realizing it. As a second-generation Chinese American, I grew up navigating the space between cultures where I was constantly balancing different values, expectations, and versions of myself depending on which world I was in. That experience shaped how I understand identity, belonging, and all of the ways we learn to push parts of ourselves aside.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I work with individuals, couples, families, and teens navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, difficult emotions, life transitions, communication issues, and challenges with identity. Whether you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or just sense that you're unhappy but aren't sure why, there is space here to slow down and explore what's going on underneath.
Trauma often lives in the body, showing up as feelings of disconnection, pain, or a sense of unsafety. And it's not always the result of major events. Often times, it's the smaller, repeated ruptures in connection that make us believe it's not safe to have needs, take up space, or ask for support. In our work together, we'll gently tune into your body's wisdom and explore the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or pushed aside.
As your therapist, my goal is to help you reconnect with those parts (with curiosity, not judgment) so you can live a life that feels more whole and more like yours.
I earned my master's in marriage and family therapy and have worked across community-based organizations supporting adults, teens, and couples of diverse backgrounds and identities, including those navigating trauma, domestic violence, and major life transitions. Through these experiences, I've had the privilege of witnessing the messy, painful, but beautiful process of healing, as well as people's resilience in rewriting and reclaiming their own narratives and identity.
If you're looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to be your full self, I'd love to work with you.
