Many of us seek therapy to address bouts of depression, the grips of anxiety, struggles in relationships, powerlessness when it comes to habits that concern eating, drinking, and other behaviors. Sometimes we seek help when we experience great loss or are struggling to cope with change in our lives. You may want to cultivate a greater sense of purpose, or embodied aliveness. Whatever has brought you here, I acknowledge the courage it takes to make this first step, and the inherent vulnerability and risk in facing what is painful in our lives through the witness of a stranger. Ultimately, the part of you that knows how and what to heal within has brought you here, in an act of self-love. Consider this an invitation to step into the most authentic version of yourself. I believe that disconnection and isolation can be found in the roots of human suffering, and therefore it is through relationships we must find healing.
My approach to psychotherapy is holistic, meaning that I attend to the whole person--heart, mind, body, and spirit. I see my role as therapist as an empathic witness, guide, and advocate along your journey of self-discovery. Through mindful, intuitive, and tenderhearted awareness I work to cultivate a safe and non-judgemental space in order to support you coming into deeper contact with all parts of yourself. As trust builds between us we may explore with playfulness and gentle curiosity the emotions, thought patterns, and belief systems as they emerge in the therapy hour and connect to the rest of your life. My intention is to support your empowerment, increased choice, and experience of freedom within your life.
I welcome the opportunity to support people of all intersectional identities and hold the spaces where our identities meet with integrity and respect. Finding a therapist who is the ‘right fit’ is crucial, and I encourage you to follow your gut in this process. If you’re interested in my work please reach out for a free 20 minute consultation.
